Deadpool & Wolverine Hype Makes Deadpool Game Prices Soar

Deadpool & Wolverine opened last Friday to generally positive reviews with a 78% on Rotten Tomatoes and 8.2/10 on IMDB. However, what might be more surprising is what this has done for a different Deadpool title, the video game

The Deadpool video game has a rather storied history. Initially released in June of 2013 by Activision before coming under the jurisdiction of Marvel Games the following year. The game was then delisted along with most other Activision titles with Marvel IPs. However, that would not be the game’s swan song with it returning in July of 2016 to Steam and Playstation online stores in the US markets. In November of 2015, the game had a full re-release with all original dlc included. This victory would be short lived, being delisted again in November of 2017, two days short of two year back on the market. Needless to say, locating this game has been a challenge for many. With the hype following the new movie, it just got even harder.

The increased hype means that prices are shooting through the roof as the limited offerings attempt to be snatched up. Currently an unopened copy of the game is selling for $288.88 on Ebay. That number seems to be on the higher end, with the average seeming to sit at $140. Either way, the game is certainly gaining popularity very quickly. Who knows, the game might get re-released again, a turn of events that would feel right at home in the fourth wall breaking, meta humor that Deadpool is known for. Players looking to get their hands on the game have an uphill battle ahead of them. Players who have copies that they never got around to opening, congratulations it is a very exciting start to the week for you.
