In other open world news, Capcom representatives have said the next generation release, Dead Rising 3, will have an open world map larger than the previous two installments combined.
According to reports, players within the world of Dead Rising 3 will have to use vehicles to traverse the enormous map; this is in contrast to the previous games that were more focused on foot travel above other forms.
Executive Producer Josh Bridge said:
We wanted to go truly open-world this time around…
He’s referring to the game’s new hardware and the lack of loading screens between areas. This means more roaming and more zombies. The last two games prided themselves on the cinematic and often times enjoyable ridiculousness of a post-zombie apocalypse world. This game will build upon the world developed by its siblings and, if reports are to be believed, grow beyond them as well.
Capcom plans to have Dead Rising 3 operate as an Xbox One launch title and will be released on November 22nd to coincide with the beginning of the next generation of console gaming.
