Team Ninja’s upcoming fighting game, Dead or Alive 6, will no longer be releasing on February 15, 2019. The developer announced that they decided to delay the game by couple of weeks, and it will now launch worldwide on March 1, 2019. The delay was posted in the form of a tweet by none other than the Game Director and Producer, Yohei Shimbori, who stated that they needed to “further polish its balance” before releasing it to the public.
With only a little more than a month away from the original launch date, this would normally be frowned upon by the community. However, the delay is but a mere two weeks, short in comparison to some other games that have been halted for more than a year when they were due to come out in a timely fashion. At the very least, it appears that we will still get Dead or Alive 6 sooner than later. Despite the delay, we might still be in for some Dead or Alive 6 action very soon, as a tweet from the Dead or Alive Tournament Executive Committee may have teased an incoming Demo.
The word “TEST” in capitalization is a strong indication for it, however there hasn’t been any official announcement in regards to this. Hopefully the fans won’t have wait too long for a potential demo, as this would be the perfect thing to keep them satiated until the full game releases. Dead or Alive hasn’t always been the most popular fighting game franchise, usually playing third or fourth fiddle to the likes of Street Fighter, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, and The King of Fighters. But the series has had a rabid fanbase since its original launch on the PlayStation, and every entry since has retained the signature balls to the wall fighting mechanics, keeping to the original tried and true formula.
Dead or Alive 6 will launch on March 1, 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
