Just yesterday, April 2nd, Behaviour Interactive Inc. released an official launch trailer for their collaboration with Tokyo Ghoul. Dead by Daylight introduces the main character from the anime Ken Kaneki as the new killer in the franchise. Ken Kaneki is now available for purchase on Steam for $4.99, as well as all platforms.
The purchasable bundle for the Tokyo Ghoul collaboration will not only include the new killer Ken Kaneki, but also an exclusive Ken Kaneki Badge, as well as an exclusive Red Spider Lilies Banner.
In the latest post by the developers, “Drawn into The Fog, Ken Kaneki’s ghoulish nature ran rampant, fueled by dark urges and insatiable hunger. If you see a black and scarlet eye blazing above a grotesque grin, it’s already too late…”
Ken Kaneki comes with new special abilities such as Kagune Leap, which allows him to charge and launch his tentacles to attach to a surface, which propels him further. He can charge up to two leaps consecutively, and the Kagune Leap can also cause damage to a Survivor, causing Deep Wounds and also the Kagune Mark. The Kagune Mark will send Kaneki into Enraged Mode.
In Enraged Mode, the players who are playing the killer are granted one extra Kagune Leap as well as increasing vault speed. Along with the brand new abilities, Ken Kaneki also comes with new Perks.
According to the official Steam page, the first perk is Hex: Nothing But Misery, where a player damages a number of Survivors to turn into a Dull Totem into a Hex: Totem. While the hex is active, Survivors will become briefly hindered when hit with a basic attack. The second perk is Forever Entwined, where whenever a Survivor takes damage, the killer is granted 1 Token, and each token collected increases the speed to pick up, drop, or hook Survivors. The last perk is None Are Free, which, according to the page, “When you Hook a Survivor for the first time, gain 1 token, up to 4. When all Generators are completed, for each token, all Windows and upright Pallets are blocked for a duration.”
