Dead By Daylight teased on their X/Twitter account an upcoming collaboration with developing team Supermassive Games and by their own Behaviour Interactive.
More information is to be announced at The Game Awards this Thursday, December 7. The video posted on Dead By Daylight’s X/Twitter explained that by working with Supermassive Games’ talent for storytelling, they will create a game furthering the Dead By Daylight lore. The single-player game will take place outside the Entity’s realm, where the Dead By Daylight gameplay occurs. It will also feature a new cast of characters.

Supermassive executive producer Traci Tutfe expressed her and the team’s excitement: “We’ve been working hard to blend the tension, agency, and branching storytelling of a Supermassive game together with Dead by Daylight’s mythology to create a tense narrative experience filled with powerful life or death choices.”
Supermassive Games is best known for the 2015 horror game Until Dawn and its 2022 follow-up The Quarry. Both games relied on players’ choices to determine the story through the butterfly effect–what one might think is a minor decision could change whether a character lives or dies.
Meanwhile, Dead By Daylight is no stranger to collaborative efforts. Most recently, they released a crossover with the Child’s Play franchise, bringing serial killer-turned-doll Charles Lee “Chucky” Ray into the game as a killer alongside an alternate skin of his lover Tiffany Valentine. Other notable collaborations with popular horror franchises include Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, Silent Hill, and two Resident Evil DLCs.
Earlier this year, Dead By Daylight announced two spin-off titles. The other one is supposedly a multiplayer collaboration developed by Midwinter Entertainment, but no further details have been announced.
Judging by the tag on the X/Twitter post, more details about the project with Supermassive Games will be announced during The Game Awards, although what exactly those details are is still unknown.
Dead By Daylight is available to play on Windows, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.
