When it comes to gaming, mobile gaming is generally looked down upon due to its nature. Most mobile games are clickers, AFK, or spend-as-much-money-as-possible games; they’re also full of ads. But sometimes you get a hidden gem and an interesting idea, and DC has accomplished that: on July 20th, they announced DCKO. DCKO is a 2v2 mobile fighting game that stars the iconic DC legends of heroes and villains. The game is currently being developed by Drop Fake and is slated for sometime in 2027. It will be released for both Android and iOS, and as of now, you can pre-register for the game’s beta and for the release of the game itself.
DCKO is the newest upcoming game in the DC gaming library; though it is a mobile game, it looks to have potential. The game will feature various heroes and villains from DC Comics. Some that many recognize, such as Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. Some of the characters are a bit niche, such as Constantine and Katana. The game is a 2v2 fighter, so players can create a team of two and either take other players on in PVP or, if they want something less competitive, play PVE with a solo campaign and various other modes that let them power up their heroes or villains. The game is ever-expanding: the current roster is made up of 19 characters, but it will receive a new character every month, adding to the mix of heroes and villains. DCKO is set for sometime in 2027, and you can pre-register for the upcoming beta now, as the game will be for both Android and iOS.
The announcement of DCKO kinda comes out of nowhere, as there have been rumors of a new fighting game, and many speculated that it would be Injustice 3. But instead, we got DCKO, a good idea, but many wished that it would be a triple-A title, as the game has amazing art, is solid, and could compete with Marvel’s new fighting game releasing in August. All in all, DCKO looks to be an interesting fighting game with lots of developer support. The reaction by fans is a bit of a mixed bag, as many wanted it to be a triple-A game, but we will just have to wait and see how it performs in the upcoming beta. DCKO is set for sometime in 2027, and you can pre-register for the upcoming beta now, as the game will be for both Android and iOS.
