Today, Bend Studio has announced that Days Gone will be getting free DLC after the game’s release. Game Director Jeff Ross said, “Days Gone is almost here! The team at Bend Studio can’t wait for players to test their luck against three difficulty modes that ship with the game on April 26… but starting in June, a whole new difficulty mode and new challenges each week are coming for all Days Gone owners with an active internet connection – for free!
The new ‘Survival’ difficulty mode will come with increased difficulty settings, no fast travel or Survival vision. It will also come with an immersive HUD that will remove maps and indicators from the gameplay screen.
Jeff Ross says that “every tweak and change made is designed to further immerse players and ratchet up the tension to make this the definitive survival experience”.
Starting in June, each week will get a new Bike, Horde, or Combat challenge. The challenges take the key gameplay features of Days Gone and twists them in unique ways. Doing these challenges will lead to additional items and rewards. More information about the challenges will be given down the road.
New trophies and unique bike skins can also be earned while playing this new content in June.
Leading up to the game’s release, Bend Studio and PlayStation have been ramping up the marketing and have been releasing videos going over every aspect of the game.
Earlier this week, more information about the many dangers of Days Gone was released. The video went into the different Freakers that you will have to deal with as well as the other human factions.
More videos have been released. One video went into the bike and how it can be upgraded and customized. The other talked about how the animals of Days Gone have changed.
Days Gone releases April 26, 2019, exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
