

The non-profit organization, Day of the Devs, provides free opportunities for independent developers to connect with others, including players. The organization does both in-person events and online showcases in order to connect devs with players. Created by Double Fine Productions and iam8bit, their showcases are in partnership with two of the biggest gaming events of the year: the Summer Game Fest and The Game Awards. Today they released their The Game Awards Digital Showcase for 2025.
Digital Showcase begins at 00:30:00.
The first game of the Digital Showcase was the escape room game, Escape Academy: Back 2 School. The demo is currently available on Steam. Players work to solve puzzles in order to escape school in an open world escape room game.
Awaysis is 17-BIT and Cult Games’ dungeon brawler, where players aim to bring peace to Awaysis, the floating island under attack by dark forces. The demo will be available at the ID@XBOX Indie Selects Demo Fest.


Lucid Falls is Eldamar Studio’s horror game, where the player traverses horrific worlds while seeking to understand the secrets of Lucid Falls. Stunning, dreamy graphics convey the horrors of the world, immersing the player in the psychological horror of Lucid Falls. Those looking forward to the title can currently wishlist it on Steam.
Lichthund’s ROCKBEASTS is a roleplaying management game with an emphasis on the story, where players aim to help their band reach the top. Find venues, sell tickets, and help them ace their performances as you seek record deals and climb the charts. ROCKBEASTS will be playable on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, and is currently available to be added to wishlists on Steam.


Stretchmancer is Triangle Wave’s upcoming puzzle game. In a spirit similar to games such as Superliminal, players will manipulate the world and items by stretching and squishing them in order to solve the puzzles. Stretch the world to fit through small spaces, or pull things closer to cross gaps. Players can currently wishlist the game on Steam.
In Devolver, Deconstructeam and Selkie Harbour’s Virtue and a Sledgehammer, set to release in 2026, the player will play a human living in the woods in a world that is seemingly occupied by robots. Equipped with a sledgehammer, players will destroy structures and robots as their way of coping with the changes in the world around them as they rediscover their hometown and the memories held there. Those interested can wishlist the game on Steam.


Beastro is Timberline Studio and Kepler’s cozy restaurant management game. Players will farm, fish, and forage their ingredients for their restaurant which serves the Caretakers, or heroes that visit the town. Tasks are completed through minigames and deck building battles, and the player, as the chef Panko, works alongside a fire god and keeps the heroes who are saving the world satisfied and equipped for combat. Players interested in Beastro can play the demo on Steam!


The world premier of Historia and Shueisha Games’ Un:Me provided a look into the game where players are placed into the role of a girl who is host to a multitude of human souls and is seeking escape from her mental prison. People will be tasked with facing different types of fears, each of which is unique to the four souls that she is hosting. The switching of the souls are involuntary, and determines what fears the player will have to face. The upcoming horror game can currently be wishlisted on Steam.


SOUNDGRASS, Soundgrass Studio’s first game, is the product of the solo developer Marcel Enderle. The core of the first-person puzzle game is, as the name suggests, sounds. The science fiction inspired game sees the player exploring a world where the plants emit different sounds. With their orb of light that serves a variety of functions, players will manipulate the world around them to solve puzzles and uncover the mystery of the world around them.
BONE Assembly’s The Dungeon Experience is a comical first-person adventure where a low-level mud crab will help you achieve financial freedom. With a fun and colorful art style that varies between scenes and funny dialogue, players will surely have a fun time in The Dungeon Experience. Wishlist it on Steam now!
Scramble Knights Royale, Funktronic Lab’s upcoming game, is a battle royale whose inspiration is derived from classic adventure games like Legend of Zelda. You will be pitted against 31 other players in an arena comprising several different areas, such as towns and dungeons. Players will want to quickly get themselves geared up, as they’re not the only one on a quest! Scramble Knights Royale will be coming to PC and Xbox Series X|S consoles in 2026, but can be wishlisted now on Steam. There are also play test sign ups available.


Mirria is Carl Burton and Mografi’s game that encourages players to take it slow. The dreamy aesthetics sets the atmosphere for the puzzle game where players will be tested to use their memory and perspectives to solve 3D puzzles in mirrored worlds. Players can wishlist the 2026 game on Steam.


Luckshot Games’ Big Hops is an action platformer where players, as a frog named Hop, will jump, tongue-swing, climb, and plant vegetables to progress forward. Taken from your family by the spirit named Diss, you’ll collect plane parts throughout different areas to get back home, though also find yourself entangled in Diss’s job. The game will be released on January 12, 2026 on PC, Nintendo Switch, and PS5.


CorgiSpace is the upcoming 8-bit game collection from Adam Atomic (Adam Saltsman) and published by Finji. The collection consists of more than a dozen different games that can each be explored in under an hour. It includes games like Rat Dreams, which is a souls-like where you roll everywhere instead of walking, and Dust Settlers is a Tetris-esque game centered on terraforming. The game is currently available on both Steam and itch.io for purchase.
Into the Fire is Starward Industries’ extraction survival game where players will face the wrath of nature in the form of an erupting volcano. Use extinguishing weapons and other gadgets to rescue people and animals facing the eruption, expand your base, and uncover the legends of the land where you are struggling to survive. As time passes, the fire will get worse — it will move faster, reach farther, and be harder to extinguish, and fire demons will appear to get in your way. An early access release of Into the Fire is planned for the first half of 2026.


Studio Folly and Toot Games banded together to become Foot as they created the fuzzy roguelike deck builder Dogpile. Players will merge their dogs into even bigger dogs in a way reminiscent of the Suika game. Frame-by-frame animation and a unique, fun art style makes the game full of appealing visuals. Dogpile is available now on Steam.


Unshine Arcade is mardt’s mashup of action-roguelite and stealth-shooter gameplay, all bundled up into a psychological horror mystery. Players will find themselves in an abandoned arcade, occupying the last arcade machine in order to earn enough tickets to free the virtual pet kept in the prize cabinet. The game by solo indie developer Mart Snijders (mardt) has flashy effects with graphics that set the atmosphere just right. The demo is currently available on Steam.


The nostalgic Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth by Hyper Games, who previously released Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley, follows Moomintroll as he journeys through the valley, coated in a thick blanket of snow in winter. With a familiar and cozy art style, players will find nostalgia and comfort. A demo will be available for Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth, which has a projected release in 2026.


Demon Tides is Fabraz’s upcoming sequel to Demon Turf. The 3D platformer will have you exploring islands and resorts in order to acquire upgrades and discover the mysteries that surround you. With snappy and flashy movement, players will have a blast navigating the ideal path to their destination. Demon Tides is set to release on February 19, 2026 for PC.


From the team behind Fall Guys, Panic Stations’s upcoming game Frog Sqwad is a co-op multiplayer physics game where, as frogs, you and your friends will gorge yourself on food and grow, overcome obstacles, and navigate the procedurally generated tunnels. Bring back food for the Swamp King and then set out again to collect even more. Panic Stations will soon have a play test for Frog Sqwad, which is slated for a 2026 release.


Astromine is Alientrap’s co-op survival game, where players will travel between planets, gathering resources and defeating enemies, expanding their reach throughout the solar system. You and your robot friends will overcome enemy factions competing for resources, build bases, defeat aliens, and refine materials as you explore the solar system. Astromine is slated for Steam Early Access in 2026, but those interested can sign up for the play test right now.
Capybara Games’s Find Your Words is a cozy game made by a team of two dads who wanted to celebrate the journey of a child learning to find their voice. Players will play as a non-speaking child going to their first summer camp. Using symbols, players will communicate with other camp goers and build relationships and community with the people around them. Find Your Words will be available for free with the option of purchasing as a supporter edition on PC in 2026.
And, finally, is Xcavator 2025 NES Cartridge. In collaboration with the Video Game History Foundation and Mega Cat Studios, iam8bit is working to release the long-lost NES prototype by Incredible Technologies (1991). The release will also include a manual which will educate players on the game’s history and the legacy of the late programmer and original creator of Xcavator, Chris Oberth, whose passing in 2012 unearthed a treasure trove of gaming history. All profits from the game will go towards the Video Game History Foundation. Preorders are available now on the iam8bit website and will close on January 20, 2026. Shipments of the game are expected to start in Q2 2026.
