The Tokyo Game Show 2015 has come and gone with many announcements having been made and much anticipation has been built. The organizer of the game show, Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association, announced today that next years show will run from Thursday September 15 to Sunday September 18 at the Makuhari Messe in Tokyo.
Along with the announcement of next years show, many stats of this years show were also disclosed. This year’s show saw about 268,446 people show up during the entire duration of the show, from September 17 to 20. This year’s attendance is a little shy of the 270,197 record set back in 2013.
Of the over 260,000 people that attended the show Sunday saw the highest attendance of the entire show with over 110,000 people attending the show on that day.
The theme of this year’s show was “Play Your Way: Games Unleashed,” TGS 2015 had about 480 corporations and organizations attended as exhibitors, with 246 companies from overseas. Virtual reality and indie games seemingly stole the show as they had received the most attention from all who attended the show.
While it is unclear what the theme for next year’s show will be, we are sure to see more industry changing news and announcements. The Tokyo Game Show 2016 will happen next September.
