Dark Souls: The Board Game Becomes One Of Kickstarter’s Most Funded Projects

Last night the Dark Souls board game wrapped up its kickstarter with resounding success.

In case you don’t remember, last month a humble kickstarter went live with the simple goal of raising around $70,000 USD and three minutes into the campaign the project was fully funded. Things only went up from there. The campaign raised $4.2 million USD (3.77 million EU), making it the 12th most funded project on the site.

The game itself is a turn-based dungeon crawler that aims to be every bit as punishing as the original game. You can read more about the game in our original article.

Those who backed the project will get the base game and every stretch goal Steamforge offered, you can check out what’s in the base game in the original article and can see all the stretch goals below. In the last update for the project Steamforge unlocked the remaining stretch goals for 4 million EU as a thank you to fans.

Those two goals included summonable characters Witch Beatrice, which you might remember from Dark Souls, if summoned her to help out on the Moonlight Butterfly boss fight, and Sword Master Saber who appeared in Dark Souls 3 just outside Firelink Shrine.

If you missed you chance to back the project you’re in luck because Steamforge is still taking late pledges and you will still get all of the stretch goals unlocked by the main campaign.

The game is set to release sometime in April of next year.
