Dark Souls: Remastered Will Finally Be Released for the Nintendo Switch in October

Since May 23 of this year, fans on most consoles have been able to enjoy the thrills of Dark Souls: Remastered. Everyone except for Nintendo Switch players, that is. Unfortunately, the release for the handheld hybrid was delayed, and many players have been clamoring for some information regarding the release. Now, we finally have something, for the Nintendo Switch release of Dark Souls: Remastered will be releasing this October.

While it will be releasing five months after its initial release, many will be excited to either try out Dark Souls for the first time ever, or relive the glory that is Dark Souls on the new hybrid console. Either way, the title is a great entry point into the critically acclaimed Souls series, so the release on the hybrid console could not come any sooner, and it will launch right behind the holiday season.

According to a press release provided to us, as with the launch of the other versions of Dark Souls: Remastered, the Switch version of the game will have a Network Test to not only stress test the servers for the game, but to also give unsure fans a chance to taste the Dark Souls experience for free. While there are no specifics on the Network Test currently, details regarding the event will be revealed in due time.

To put the game into a nutshell, Dark Souls in an RPG that is all about adapting to your environment, enemies, weapons, and just about everything. In a world where most of everything is trying to kill you, you will have to fight tooth and nail to get through each area. Many have called it the best RPG of all time because of its fluid third-person combat, but it has also been highly praised because of its interesting, desolate world and story. And with this release, gamers will finally be able to play this masterful experience on the go.

Dark Souls: Remastered will finally be dropping on the Nintendo Switch, both physically and digitally, on October 19 for $39.99.
