Fans of the Dark Souls series may have gotten a glimpse of what the future may hold for the anticipated third installment.
Two leaked photos taken from Geekay Games, a video game retailer based in the United Arab Emirates, appear to show two different collectors editions for Dark Souls III. The photos have since been taken down but they appear to have depicted two different versions of the game: the Collector Edition (pictured above) and the Prestige Edition (below).
Both editions of the game contain a collector’s box, a metal case, three iron-on patches, a cloth game map, a hardcover artbook, the official soundtrack, and a figurine. The differences between the two are the packaging and the type of figure included with each edition. The Collector Edition boasts a 25 cm Red Knight figurine while the Prestige Edition boasts a 40 cm Lord Cinder figurine.
Bandai Namco hasn’t commented on the validity of these editions but the images do appear to be legit. Those looking to get a copy of either of these versions is looking to take a hit to their wallets. The Collector Edition is listed at 499 UAE dirham (about $136 US), while the Prestige edition a whopping 1,799 UAE dirham which converts to $490 US.
The images also reveal the release date of April 12, 2016 which coincides with Bandai Namco’s previous statements regarding a North America release date. An official release date of March 24, 2016 has been set for Japan.
