Fans of Dark Souls have a lot to look forward to this April. Not only is the next game in the series, Dark Souls III, scheduled for release on April 12th but just recently revealed by IGN a Dark Souls comic book will also be arriving that month.
Titan Comics are the ones who’ll be able to get a crack at bringing the world of Dark Souls to life. The company is known for their takes on franchises such as Assassin’s Creed, Doctor Who, and NBC series The Blacklist. Tasked with writing the story is Sunday Times best-selling author George Mann with illustrations being done by Alan Quah.
Reportedly the comics will not be a retelling of the stories told in the games but rather brand new stories set in the game’s universe.
“Dark Souls has a rich, original universe that’s just begging to be explored in comics, and I’m honoured to have the opportunity to delve in and tell some new stories within it.” Mann said in a release. “I’ve been a fan of the games for some time, so it’s a real thrill to be able to contribute to the mythology of the Hollows and their world.”
It is not known whether the comic will have a limited run or ongoing series. The first issue will ship with 5 different covers, 4 of which can be seen on IGN.
