Today a release date was announced for developer Mad Mimic and Publisher Neowiz’s upcoming game, Dandy Ace. The game is set to release March 25 on Steam. A console release is scheduled to happen later this summer. Dandy Ace is a roguelite RPG where the player takes on the role of a magician trapped in the world of a cursed mirror. Players will find, use, and combine a plethora of magic cards in order to defeat hordes of creatures. Every run is different as the layout of the games levels change after every death. For Twitch streamers the game will offer a special Twitch game mode which will allow for a streamer’s audience to control and influence different aspects of the game such as what cards drop, what levels are next, or what special restrictions are put on the player.
Outside of the roguelike level layouts, one of the biggest draws the game has going for it is its emphasis on finding and combining attack cards. Depending on what cards the player finds and what order they are equipped, the player has access to a load of different attacks and skills. Players will have try out and make use of everything in their arsenal in order to defeat the game’s unique bosses, such as an artistic axolotl and a royal gardener whose body is made of thorns. Players will also earn permanent upgrades along the way to make each run a little easier. Fans of other entries in the roguelike genre such as Hades and Enter The Gungeon should keep an eye out for Dandy Ace once it releases.
Dandy Ace will launch on Steam March 25, the game will release on Playstation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch later this year. A free demo is currently available for download. Those who are interested in the game are also able to wishlist it on Steam.
