Known worldwide for their influential contribution to the fighting game market with prolific titles like Guilty Gear Strive and Dragon Ball FighterZ, Arc System Works has just unveiled their latest project, straying away from the company’s more well-known niche of competitive multiplayer fighters. Arc System Works’ action adventure RPG, Damon and Baby, was announced just this past week during PlayStation’s State of Play Japan showcase, accompanied by a gameplay trailer and release window announcement for the title of early 2026. Despite being showcased at PlayStation’s State of Play event, Damon and Baby is also planned for release to Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam within the same early 2026 window as its PlayStation 4 & 5 editions.
The story of Damon and Baby sees an unlikely duo of a mighty demon king, Damon, and a human child embark on a treacherous journey by happenstance. Faced with treacherous situations involving reapers, demons, and abominations alike, Damon will need to upgrade, optimize, and specialize his arsenal if he plans on keeping Baby safe throughout their journey. The game’s available weaponry will range from handguns and assault rifles to rocket launchers and much more, meaning that fans of bullet hell action, the likes of Devolver Digital’s Enter the Gungeon and Raw Fury’s West of Dead, will find themselves right at home with a slew of options to choose from in regards to building ones own unique play style. With all that goodness being said, Damon and Baby’s colorful cast of unique and charming characters sweetens the deal by weaving slapstick humor depicted through crude cartoon drawings akin to the sort of things a child might draw of an imaginary friend. Taking into consideration this cute design choice in tandem with the game’s anime-esque character and boss designs, Damon and Baby is sure to entice fans of all kinds of genres.
The exciting new world of Arc System Works’ anticipated upcoming bullet hell adventure, Damon and Baby, is close on the horizon as the game is planned for an early 2026 release to PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
