Cyberpunk 2077 Will Not Be At The Game Awards

The annual video game awards presentation, The Game Awards, is set to start on Thursday, December 6 at 5:30 pm PST, and the anticipation is at an all time high. We already know which games are nominated at the show, but it’s also well known fact that a lot of video game companies use this as a media platform for unveiling new IP’s as well as new trailers for upcoming games. This year’s event will showcase some of the biggest announcements since E3 2018, as we already know that there are more than 10 reveals awaiting us on Thursday. Sadly, we just found out today that Cyberpunk 2077 will not be one of those games, as CD Projekt Red stated that the game will not be at The Game Awards.

The tweet, which can be seen above, came from Marcin Momot, the Community Lead Manager at CD Projekt Red. It’s a pretty cut and dry message, clearly giving the fans a reason not to expect the game at the event. While this may be looked down upon by some, it’s important to note that CD Projekt Red is a company full of perfectionists, and they won’t reveal or show anything unless they feel that it’s absolutely ready. We haven’t seen or heard a lot since its initial reveal at E3 2018 this past summer, but trust us when we say the wait will be worth it.

In the meantime, we have other announcements to look forward to at The Game Awards. This includes the rumored Alien: Blackoutthe unannounced game from Obsidian Entertainment, and Bioware’s Anthem as well as the potential new Dragon Age game. The Game Awards is filled to the brim with exciting things for gamers to witness, and let’s not forget the awards themselves as this is also showcase of the best games of 2018, and a celebration of enjoying what it is to be a video gamer. Geoff Keighley, the stage is all yours come this Thursday night.

The Game Awards takes place on Thursday, December 6, at 5:30 pm PST.
