Cyberpunk 2077 File Size Revealed

CD Projekt Red’s highly anticipated next new title Cyberpunk 2077 has been getting quite bit of attention lately. The developer went all out at E3 2019 with a new trailer which showed off Keanu Reeves as a character and confirmed the long awaited release date for the game. They also had behind closed doors demos to a select few during the convention but the footage hasn’t yet been shown.

Despite that, the developer recently confirmed that the private demo footage will be released during the time of Pax West which takes place this August. And even more recently it has been confirmed that the game will include romance, minigames, and many other features to keep players busy.

Now, preorders for the game are now opened and with that another surprising development about the game has been revealed. The European PlayStation Store has shown that there is a 80 GB minimum of free space required to download the game. If this proves to be true then that would make the game’s install size 30 GB larger than the required size of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

It is entirely possible that this file size could turn out to be an error or that CD Projekt Red isn’t yet finished with the game and is currently working at making the title more accommodating storage wise. The game isn’t slated to release until Spring next year so there is time to do so if possible.

However, if this does turn out to be the actual file size for the game fans looking forward to preordering and installing the futuristic first person RPG will either have to start clearing out space, or investing into an external hard drive. The developer hasn’t made any official announcements in regards to the size of the game as of yet. Cyberpunk 2077 is currently slated to release on April 16, 2020 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
