Whoa! Microsoft’s E3 presentation contained a big surprise–with all the leaks, CD Project RED really did a great job keeping this one under wraps! At the end of their trailer presentation for the the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077, one of the characters was revealed to be megastar of The Matrix and John Wick franchises Keanu Reeves. The trailer also showed off the locations Night City and Northern California and walked the viewer through a deal gone sour.
Keanu came out on stage after the trailer to talk about the game and shared a release date. Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled to release on April 16th, 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
This new trailer gives a deeper look at the world and story of Cyberpunk 2077. The newly debuted character shown at the end of the trailer is “Johnny Silverhand,” a “legendary rockerboy” who will be played by the iconic Keanu Reeves. Reeves also provided full-body motion capture to his portrayal of Johnny Silverhand, so fingers crossed for some of Keanu’s trademark stunt work making it in to Cyberpunk 2077.
Cyberpunk 2077 is shaping up to be sleek and ultra-cool adaptation of pen-and-paper game Cyberpunk 2020, released over 30 years ago. In Cyberpunk, mega-corporations rule and the climate is dystopian, to say the least. Let’s see how our own 2020 pans out, and how predictive the new version, Cyberpunk 2077, will feel to us now.
In Cyberpunk 2077, the player controls the protagonist, “V,” who will be customizable to the player’s preferences. The game’s style looks to be role-playing heavy, but it’s going to help to have some FPS combat skills as well. CD Project RED first announced development of Cyberpunk 2077 in 2012 and debuted about 50 minutes of gameplay at last year’s E3 and Gamescom.
Pre-orders are available for Cyberpunk 2077 starting today. The Collector’s Edition of Cyberpunk 2077 comes with a 10″ stature of the game’s protagonist V in a cool, dynamic pose, a steenbok case, a hardcover art book, and more. It all comes in a box made to look like a mega-building from Cyberpunk 2077’s scarily futuristic Night City.
Again, the release date for Cyberpunk 2077 is April 16, 2020 and it’s coming to Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.
