The upgrades are of course for the newest hardware console generation, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, both of which launches in 2020 respectively. CD Projekt Red also promised the continuation of work for Cyberpunk 2077. This includes expanding teams to mitigate wait times for updates, a major upcoming patch that will attempt to resolve current issues, and an expansion that will add even more content to the title. In the time between the now infamous launch and today, the company has released more than ten patches in order to combat game-breaking bugs and glitches.
As for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the next-gen upgrade promises to improve the overall visual aspect of the title. It will also come with some new content that pertains to the Netflix live adaptation, which has become a major success for both companies with a second season set to premiere next month. As we already mentioned, Cyberpunk 2077’s next-gen upgrade is set for sometime in Q1 2022, while The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s isn’t slated to release until Q2 2022. The company also stated that these upgrades will be free for those who purchased the titles for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, regardless of whether you owned the newer systems before or after.
