We’re only a couple of weeks away from Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion. Square Enix’s remake releases on December 13, and just in the nick of time, Square Enix is ready to share some more information with us. The company released a brand new launch trailer for the title, which is chalked full of brand new gameplay, voice acting, and a ton of new features that essentially make this newer version an entirely new experience.

The footage shown in the trailer gives us a small glimpse into the world that Zack, Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith inhabit, all while working in the company of the SOLDIER Class of Shinra. Zack of course is the main protagonist here, as the game acts as a prequel to Final Fantasy VII. We also see some fan favorites make their return such as Zack’s mentor and the original owner of the Buster Sword Angeal, as well as the main antagonist Genesis, who in turn helps Sephiroth’s descent into madness. While the title does release for several systems, it’s more than likely that the footage shown in the trailer is from either a current home console or a very well-run PC, so keep that in mind when playing the game yourself on your respective platform.
The combat in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is largely the same as its original 2007 PSP version, with a huge makeover. Now the heads-up display is the exact same as Final Fantasy VII Remake, making access to items and abilities that much more clearer and easier. This will be especially evident since we’re not playing this on the much smaller PSP screen, and instead on a much higher resolution television/monitor. Everything is looking great thus far for this remake, and we can’t wait to get out hands on it.
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion will officially launch on December 13 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/Series S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
