Graveyard Keeper is an upcoming management-simulator that takes place in medieval cemetery. Called the most inaccurate simulator of the year, the developers over at Lazy Bear Games aim to create an atmosphere surrounded around capitalism, where doing whatever it takes to create a thriving business is the prime objective.
You begin by building and managing your own customizable graveyard. Finding manners in which you can cut costs and expand on entertainment are your best bet for generating profit, meaning partaking in witch-burning festivals may be a worthy investment. Events that generate controversy will also promote intrigue, meaning thinking outside of the box in regards to entertainment will demonstrate the best results fiscally. Scaring nearby villagers into attending a church you have built can also generate worthy income, so make sure you’re constantly expanding. The same tricks won’t work forever, meaning creativity goes a long way.
You’ll be facing various ethical dilemmas as you’ll eventually have to pick and choose what to utilize your resources for. You may opt to use your resources for the greater good of the town, but suffer a net loss as a result. Exploration will dictate a large amount of what can be done, as resources are collected in the world around you. The recycling of products and creating business alliances can often allow you to profit from what would otherwise go to waste. The dead bodies that you place in your graveyard, for instance, are often still filled with blood, meaning you might as well sell it to someone who can put it into better use. Think outside the box, and you’re sure to turn measly items into sustainable ones.
