Crash Bandicoot 1, 2, and Warped Being Remastered for PS4

It’s been a long time, but the original mascot for the Playstation is finally making a comeback.  Sony announced at their E3 press conference that they have teamed up with Activision, who currently own the rights to Crash Bandicoot, to bring HD remastered versions of Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2, and Crash Bandicoot: Warped to PS4.  To see the original announcement, skip to 1:25:00 in the video below.

The new games will be made from the ground up, which could hopefully mean new content can be added to the games.

Along with this amazing news, it was also announced that Crash will be a playable character in the upcoming Skylanders: Imaginators.  This also means a Crash Bandicoot figurine should be in the future.

While we don’t know for sure, Crash’s appearance in Skylanders could be how he looks in the upcoming remakes.  He looks pretty faithful to his original design, although it’s weird that his mouth is about a third the size of his body.  At least he no longer has tribal tattoos.

Unfortunately this is all the informations we’ve gotten so far, but it’s great to know that one of Sony’s most beloved characters is getting the comeback he deserves.
