CONTROL Resonant Physical Edition Delayed to October 15th

Delays in gaming have become much more common in the current age of gaming, as the demand for successful launches grows. Getting it right the first time has become more important than ever, so delays have become much more common, especially in packed years. But when it comes to delays, it isn’t always about the game being pushed back; it can also be the version that gets delayed, such as physical copies. In the case of CONTROL Resonant, the physical edition of the game has been officially delayed to October 15th, a month before launch. The bright side is that the game has officially gone Gold, so it’s set for September 24th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.

CONTROL Resonant is the newest title to be coming from Remedy, along with it being a sequel to the 2019 CONTROL game. The game will see you take control of Dylan Faden, the brother of the main protagonist Jesse, as he fights his way through a reality-warped Manhattan. The game has been officially set to launch on September 24th for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC. The game will also receive a physical edition at launch, something Alan Wake 2 didn’t have, another Remedy title. Unfortunately, the physical edition of the game has now been delayed to October 15th, as Remedy needs more time to deliver it to players. It’s not all bad news, as Remedy also announced that the game has officially gone Gold, meaning development is complete, and the game is ready for September 24th.

“The physical release date for the game has moved to October 15th. We need just a little more time to deliver the physical version to you, but rest assured – nothing stays contained forever.”

Delays in gaming are always a bummer, as the wait to play a game you have been anticipating becomes longer. In the case of CONTROL Resonant, it isn’t all too bad, as only the physical edition has been delayed. It’s still really important, as physical games are becoming less and less common, which is bad because consumers will lose the ability to own their games. The bright side is it’s only been delayed to the month after release, though they could have informed a little sooner, as the game releases in a month either way; not the worst outcome, and the game has gone GOLD, so all there is to do is wait for the game’s official launch. CONTROL Resonant is set for September 24th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
