Conan Exiles Gets a New Trailer Leading up to Its Release

In anticipation of Conan Exiles release, developer Funcom released new trailer within a blog post to showcase some of the highly anticipated features of the open world sandbox.

The video features commentaries from both creative director Joel Bylos and lead designer Oscar Lopez Lacalle as they discuss the many aspects of the game that will set it apart from others. Most notable from the video is the fact that players will be able to kill an animal or enemy and mount its head on the wall of their home. Players will also be able to build their own town on a mountainside if they so please.

Building houses and other places will require a player to first obtain work benches such as a forge, wood smithing bench, armor bench, and tannery. All of these benches will allow players to build anything they like no matter where they want to build.

In order to build more advanced items, players will have to find the right people to take home and have them teach you their secrets, whether you force them or ask nicely. Players can even catch former slaves and outcasts and have them work for you, protecting your territories and walls surrounding your city.

If building amazing stuff isn’t your cup of tea, then this next bit may change your mind. In Conan Exiles, players will be able to summon huge avatars of the Gods who will then proceed to destroy everything in their path, which includes any buildings or other crushable objects that need smashing. Here is what Joel had to say in the video:

They say that home is where your heart is, but in Conan Exiles, home is where you keep the hearts of your enemies. Building is a big part of Conan Exiles and you will need to build smart and build strong in order to defend yourself from the environment, cannibals, monsters, and of course enemy players. We are working hard to make sure players have powerful tools to build and defend their kingdoms.

The game is set to be released on Steam later this month on January 31st, with an Xbox One release coming in the spring. So far there has not been any word as to whether the title will make its way to the PS4.
