Funcom, the developer behind the upcoming Conan Exiles, has announced that the game will graduate from early access to an official release in early 2018. The open-world action game has been available in early access for the PC since January of 2017, and the Xbox One since August. The game’s full launch will also see a PlayStation 4 version become available, as Sony’s system has no early access.
“Early Access and Game Preview has been an absolutely invaluable tool for us in developing Conan Exiles,” said Conan Exiles Creative Director Joel Bylos in a press release. “Being able to get direct feedback from players has allowed us to focus our work on improvements, bug fixes, and new content. We still have a few months to go and are by no means done squashing bugs and making improvements. We’re working hard on new content and gameplay mechanics – including the new jungle and volcano biomes!”
In concert with its announcement, Funcom also published a new trailer for the game. The video showcases Conan Exiles’ world, along with a few highlights of the game’s building and construction features.
Final pricing of the game was revealed alongside its launch date. Conan Exiles will have a final release on May 8th, 2018; the PC version will launch at $40 while Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will launch at $50. The game is currently available on PC at the $30 Early Access price, with Xbox One available in Game Preview at the same price of $50. Conan Exiles is getting a physical edition, which can be pre-ordered, and the Day One Edition comes with a few extra goodies: a (physical) printed game map and Conan’s Atlantean Sword, an in-game item.
Finally, Conan Exiles is getting a Collector’s Edition, which comes with the aforementioned map and, plus a custom Conan comic book, three soundtracks, an art book, six digital comics, and a digital Conan RPG rule book.
