Twitch.tv is the site dedicated to live and recording broadcasts of gameplay. That is, it’s like the ESPN of esports.
Currently, the Frontline Network, a channel on Twitch TV is broadcasting Company of Heroes 2 world championships.
If the idea of watching other people play video games sounds strange to you, you’re not alone– but in practice, observing the play styles and techniques of some of the top-ranked players in the world is humbling and awe-inspiring. And, not to be discounted, there’s certainly value in seeing the gameplay rather than hyped-up trailers to see if you might actually like playing the game.
In true sports-watching style, there are live play-by-play and color commentators that add dimension to just watching the game. Pop on over and have a look– if nothing else, you may see some games you want– we hope Nintendo is paying attention.
You can catch up on the action here, at Twitch.tv.
