Upcoming action RPG, taking place in the realm of The Lord of the Rings saga, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, had its story trailer, titled “The Bright Lord,” revealed at yesterday’s San Diego Comic-Con. Along with this showcasing, the Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment project saw a United Kingdom release date etched in stone.
This recent trailer uncovers previously unknown details about the game. Players are given insight to the identity of a furtive wraith, whose path entangles with both the game’s main character. The wraith’s path is, again, intersected by Sauron, a LOTR antagonist, and the evil artifacts: the Rings of Power.
In the trailer, the main character and the Wraith walk along a trail to find artifacts that conjure up memories of the Wraith’s past, which tie him to the Rings of Power and unite him with the main protagonist towards a common goal, but not without arising ambiguity in the intention of his path to redemption.
According to a press release, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor takes place in a dynamic setting where players take control of the lead character who is determined for vengeance and will “bend Mordor to their will.” Players will reveal the secret of the protagonist’s driving spirit and the origin of the Rings of Power.
Players can download a Palantir App, free, from Apple’s “App Store.” The application will be compatible for synchronization with Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor to provide more detailed information about the game, fan-authored content, and a second-screen experience. The app can be synched currently, for those sufficiently intrigued. Curious cats can enable the sync mode on the app while watching the newly released “The Bright Lord.”
Along with the trailer, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced a Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor release date: Oct. 3, 2014 in the United Kingdom for Playstation 3 and 4, Xbox One and 360, and PC. According to a release, this release date, in response to fan excitement, is earlier than the initially planned date.
