It looks like Konomi might be bringing back a classic game to modern platforms. Recently ESRB rated the Collection of Felix The Cat Games on its website along with platforms that it will potentially be on, which could be a hint that this game is coming back out.
The Collection Of Felix The Cat games is based on the Cartoon character of the same name. In the Collection Of Felix The Cat Games, players will be helping Felix rescue his girlfriend from a villainous professor. This game is classified as ” a collection of action platformers.” According to the rating on the ESRB website:
Players traverse 2D pixelated environments while using gadgets and vehicles (e.g., punching glove, tank, submarine) to defeat small cartoony creatures. Enemies typically fall from the screen when hit; some boss encounters depict whimsical pistol attacks, cartoony bombs, and mild explosions.
The game was rated Everyone with “mild fantasy violence” and “no interactive elements.” When the Collection Of Felix The Cat Games first came out in the 1990s it was originally developed by Sunsoft and Hudson Soft who are now defunct. Hudson went Defunt in 2012. If the Collection Of Felix The Cat Games does come back it looks like Konami will be the one to bring it back. Konami is a Japanese video game developer who has developed games like Super Bomberman R 2, Contra: Rogue Corps, and Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel and so much more.
If you were playing this game back then, then you were probably playing it on Gameboy and or on the classic Nintendo Entertainment System. If this game does get re-released then it will possibly be on Windows PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch from what the ESRB website has listed for this game.
Nothing has been officially confirmed about the Collection Of Felix The Cat Games, only what the ESRB website has posted. For now, all we can do is sit back and wait and see what happens next with this game. Who knows maybe the official announcement is around the corner.
