Cold War Mid-Season Update Will Add Zombies Map, New Wonder Weapon

Black Ops: Cold War has been getting a steady stream of content, with new weapons, maps, and balance patches releasing constantly. This trend isn’t stopping either: Cold War’s Season 4: Reloaded is bringing a whole slew of new content to the game, including an all new zombies map.

Black Ops: Cold War is no stranger to free zombies content and this won’t be the first brand new zombies map to come out for the live-service, so most players will already know what to expect from Treyarch’s next entry in the zombies storyline, but it’s been a while since a totally fresh map released. Last season, Treyarch focused on improving Outbreak, the most recent new map, but now “Mauer Der Toten” will offer a whole new map filled with secrets, Easter eggs, and enough brain-eating zombies to last a lifetime.

July is here, which means Season Four’s mid-point is fast approaching… and our next round-based Zombies map, “Mauer der Toten,” will be coming with it. The wait is almost over.

If the main draw of zombies is the chance to enjoy tactical FPS combat in a weird, dangerous reality, then the wonder weapons are the best way to do just that. These weapons give players the chance to wield guns that decimate the competition, offering an edge against the infinite zombie hordes. A brand new wonder weapon will be coming to Black Ops: Cold War in the next mid-season update alongside “Mauer der Toten,” but Treyarch has been tight-lipped on what exactly this weapon does.

Based on this promotional image, it looks like this gun might be able to change form, letting gamers swap between a shotgun, rifle, and pistol setup by attaching different parts.

Treyarch confirmed today that Mauer der Toten will be releasing July 14th, with the “main quest Easter egg” releasing the next day, so the wait is nearly over.
