Code Vein unveiled its first trailer last year, showcasing a detailed rich setting placed in a dystopian world. A bit further into the future, a once progressive society has fallen into the clutches of the Thorns of Judgment. However, a substantial amount of humanity has never met their graves. Instead, many soulless fiends wander the lower lands as bloodthirsty ghouls.
To keep these ghouls in check, the fallen society is sustained by a group called “Revenants”, who are just a drop of blood away from becoming one of those mindless fiends. The Revenants have long traded off their memories for lethal supernatural powers, and where some fight for the last survivors of humanity, others simply fight for themselves.
Bandai Namco has recently released a trailer that gives viewers an amazing look at a Revenants most gruesome attack. In previous gameplays, we were able to watch characters perform basic attacks and movements, now Code Vein teases some incredible abilities soon to come.
Code Vein operates as an intricate hack-and-slash game equipping players with swift dodges, purposeful strikes, and slick dashes. As if a gigantic sword wasn’t enough, in the trailer we witness a vicious demonic duo of wolves devour into their targeted enemy. Is this a glimpse of the blood thirst the Revenants must control within themselves?
This game is reputable for its “Dark Souls” appeal, but nonetheless holds the interest and excitement from its fan base. However, there is one consistent complaint that the fighting style of Code Vein is too sluggish and stiff. Whether that issue will be addressed or not is currently unknown. As for Code Vein as whole, it’s official release date has not been revealed but its availability, for consoles and PC, is still floating around within this year.
