There’s a new game taking center stage over at Steam. Lethal Company, a Co-Op horror game is becoming a huge success on Steam. According to Steam, the objective of Lethal Company is to as a “contracted Worker” :

collect scrap from abandoned, industrialized moons to meet the Company’s profit quota. You can use the cash you earn to travel to new moons with higher risks and rewards–or you can buy fancy suits and decorations for your ship. Experience nature, scanning any creature you find to add them to your bestiary. Explore the wondrous outdoors and rummage through their derelict, steel and concrete underbellies

Lethal Company was developed and published by Zeekerss and was released in October of this year. The first update for this game came out on November 11th. Zeekerss is a gaming developer who has developed games like The Upturned and Dead Seater. Lethal Company is also one of Steam’s Early Access games where you get to play the game as it is being developed.  If you want to play Lethal Company, the game costs $10 on Steam and the “supported System” is Windows.

Currently, Lethal Company is number 2 on Steam’s Top Seller list and number 11 on their Most-Played list. The game has also surpassed 100,000 “concurrent players”. The number of players has increased since November 14th. On November 14th the number of players peaked at 47,933 and by November 18th the number rose to 88,751. As of Monday, November 20th, the number has risen to 115,050. Steam users are really loving Lethal Company because the “Overall Reviews” was rated “Overwhelmingly Positive”.

Zeekerss said on Steam that they want to have Lethal Company done “within 6 months”. They went on to say that game will be in “Early Access” until they are “satisfied with it”.They said the Early Access has “7 planets” to traverse along with “9 creatures” to unearth, and the game is able to be played by up to four players. And when it comes to involving the community Zeekerss has this to say :

At this point Lethal Company could go in many directions. Your feedback will help me focus the game’s design. I will mainly be looking at reactions on our Discord and Patreon as well as watching video playthroughs. I may also use your ideas for new creatures and items to add into the game.

It’s clear that this game has hit a note with players and has piqued their interest. only time will tell where this game will go from here.
