3D Realms vice president Frederik Schreiber went to Twitter to announce that 3D Realms had to cancel Aliens: Hadley’s Hope and he shared the pitch for the planned game. Aliens: Hadley’s Hope was planned to be a co-op PvE game focusing on four player missions with marines and colonists. Supposedly, the game had gone pre-production when Disney bought out 21st Century Fox.
Yup. Game was called Aliens: Hadleys Hope. We went quite far into pre-production before the Disney/Fox acquisition, and then we had to cancel it, and move on with something else.

A misfitting mix of colonists and marines fight together for their lives against a protective alien queen who’s willing to do whatever it takes to safeguard her eggs.
The pitch continued explaining the game’s concept, “Players group up to battle the alien queen and her relentless swarm of alien protectors. The game requires teamwork and tactics in order to make progress through each level. Only after surviving several levels will the team face off against an alien queen in her well guarded lair.”
Frederik Schreiber was replying to a tweet from game designer and studio head of the now closed Boss Key Productions Cliff Bleszinski. Cliff Bleszinski claims that he was working on an Aliens game as well, but was shut down after Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox. While not being able to work on Aliens: Hadley’s Hope, Frederik Schreiber has assured that his team is still working on several other projects including Kingpin, Ion Fury, WRATH and Ghostrunner.
Disney started purchasing 21st Century Fox back in March, 20th 2019. Disney was able to acquire all of 21st Century Fox, including all of their studios and intellectual properties. As well as Fox Networks Group, controlling investments in National Geographic Group and a 30% stake in Hulu. As of now, Disney has not green light any new properties under the Aliens name, though the possibility is not out of window with the positive reception of Alien: Isolation and the popularity of the brand.
