Earlier today, EXOK games dropped a Reveal Trailer for a new game called City of None. City of None, is a collaboration between Noel & Liam Berry and EXOK Games, which will launch sometime in 2027. The unreleased game doesn’t have much information attached to it yet, but as 2027 comes closer, more trailers and information should arrive.
City of None’s Reveal takes on the journey of a “spirit” wandering around a city. The trailer starts with information, “from the co-creator of CELESTE” and “published by EXOK EXTREMELY OK GAMES, LTD.” It then dives into a mostly black and white world, from underground tunnels to a tree next to running water. It starts with a glowing acorn that rises from tunnels, switching to a massive tree and visuals of a city skyline and the main playable character next to water. A tiny glowing ball floats next to a creature in the water, before the character’s abilities such as jumping, fighting and conversing with people underground take center stage.
Through continued dialogue, the playable character is revealed to be a “spirit” that’s “wandering the wastes.” Not only that, but the characters the playable character interacts with are all of various normal and mostly non-human character designs and have broad personalities, one even trash talks the mc. One dialogue in particular, “I’ve been waiting so long…”gives hints to a broader storyline. The tiny ball continues flashing through scenes attacking small creatures, as locations are teased quickly like the playable character next to a train, a fishing pond with another non- human character fishing, and a glowing tree which states that “The City resonates with their ringing.” The trailer takes a turn, in a red and black color scheme as the character runs through seemingly the upstairs world, as through a window skyscrapers stand tall with huge red doors in the running pathway, before going back to the depths as the character fights enemies of various sizes and powers. A giant skull is seen closing its mouth on something then the trailer blackens and the skull appears again closed, the small glowing balls appear, hitting against creatures, then the playable character takes center stage in an all black screen. A City of None, leaves much for imagination but those interested in the game can add it to their wishlist on Steam.
