Several little children have been learning the value of kindness and compassion through the help of this mobile game called Planet Pink. The developer, Nancy Hahn, is very familiar with creating multiplatform children’s media that educated and inspired them: Hahn has created other works like children’s books and other forms of multicultural media for the younger audience. With the assistance of Azure Ravens writing the software and Nancy Belle Studios producing the mobile game, Nancy Hahn was able to launch her idea, Planet Pink, to the Google Play Store on April 2023.
“The young 7 crowds often get neglected when it comes to fun educational games, so getting the opportunity to bring this world to life has been a blast. We are so excited to show the world all the games currently in development and to get Planet Pink Club mobile in the hands of gamers worldwide,” said the founder and creative director of Azure Ravens Entertainment, Corbin John Reeves.
Planet Pink is based on Nancy Hahn’s children’s book series and the iHeartRadio series that goes by the same name. The mobile game incorporates learning targets for young children that informs on information about our universe while providing life lesson in showing kindness and compassion to those around them. In fact, Planet Pink was awarded the “Teacher Approved” certificate on Google Play to confirm its authenticity and is the only mobile game created for children that has its own iHeartRadio Station.
Through the multitude of colorful characters featured in the game, players explore the home of some alien creatures that live on a dwarf recently discovered by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. As players correctly answered questions, they could rescue and unlock new characters from stories in the Kindness Journal. Various activities and mini games enable players to learn about the universe while earning reward points for the kind deeds they accomplish along the way.
Nancy Hahn was eager to receive support from gaming industry experts wherever she could to make her dream come to life. There was no longer just talented individuals that resided in just the West Coast of the United States, but from all over and Hahn realized that she did not have to go tot the major gaming companies to get recognition for her work.
“This puts Michigan developers in the forefront where they deserve to be. It’s no longer that you have to go to the West Coast to get fantastic mobile game developers,” she said. “With Michigan producers and a Michigan company developing the software, it’s a broad Michigan connection. It’s proof in the pudding. I’m from Pennsylvania and I’ve been successfully creating content globally.”
Nancy Hahn had decided that she wanted to create a mobile game back in 2015, but did not have any knowledge on how to create one. So, Hahn spent a year studying mobile game design on her own time before making the commitment to her first game. Especially with the current success of her Planet Pink series, she knew that the franchise would be the best kicking off point for her journey. Furthermore, she wanted to create a mobile game that gave positive reinforcement to children when demonstrating acts of compassion and kindness.
“I created the Planet Pink franchise in 2014 dovetailing from NASA discovering the pink planet. The entire game is all rooted in real science. I did research with NASA and I created the characters. I talked with the discovery team. It was fascinating. I then wrote the book series that are now in libraries all over the world.” Hahn stated.
Hahn constantly keeps updates on current and future projects on the Planet Pink website where perusers could learn more information.
