CD Projekt Red Announces Upcoming Showcase of Witcher 3: Wild Hunt DLC at Gamescom 2026

Earlier today, CD Projekt Red announced on the CD Projekt Red Press Center that they will be attending Gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live. During the event, they will be showcasing their upcoming DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which they’ve named Songs of the Past. On May 27th, many fans of The Witcher game series were both surprised and ecstatic to hear The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt would be getting another expansion, over a decade since the game’s last DLC. Now, with the upcoming Gamescom being held during late August, fans of the series will be getting their first look at the Songs of the Past expansion before it’s eventual release in 2027.

The announcement from CD Projekt Red provides more information on when and where the showcase will be. For any interested players that will be in Cologne, Germany, CD Projekt Red will be hosting their showcases of the upcoming Witcher 3: Wild Hunt DLC in the business area of the Koelnmesse exhibition center from August 26 to August 28th. However, they will also have showcases available in the entertainment area from August 26th to August 30th. Lastly, the company will also be showcasing the DLC on the gamescom show floor. Overall, it’s quite clear that CD Projekt Red is doing what they can to show the latest expansion to 2015’s Game of the Year.

Showcasing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt‘s Songs of the Past during Gamescom 2026 allows for CD Projekt Red to send a message to both their players and their fellow industry members that they’re not afraid to revisit their old projects. With the success that the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt had in its time, it makes sense that they would revisit it with a new DLC and show it to the fans that gave the game so much acclaim in the first place. While no new information on the Songs of the Past expansion have been revealed quite yet, fans of The Witcher games will certainly have something to look forward to at the end of August.
