Following the delay of the next-gen versions of The Witcher III: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077 late last year, developer CD Projekt Red has been silent since then. Today, the devs announced a Cyberpunk 2077 live stream is set for tomorrow, February 15. Following the announcement, the Xbox Store has been updated and shows that Cyberpunk 2077 is now optimized for Xbox Series X|S which means that the next-gen versions of the game for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 might be announced for tomorrow.

CD Projekt Red said that they are targeting a release for the next-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077 for Q1 2022. The next-gen version of The Witcher III: Wild Hunt is slated for a Q2 2022 release. This is not the first time that a next-gen version of the game has been brought up. In January, a PS5 edition of the game showed up om PlayStation Network which prompted speculation then that the next-gen version of the game would be getting announced soon.
The next-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S may not be the only thing announced during tomorrow’s livestream. We may get to see what next’s for the future of the game. There are a couple of different things that could get revealed. We may get a first look at the DLC plans for the game. CD Projekt Red said that Cyberpunk 2077 would be getting the same amount of DLC as The Witcher III: Wild Hunt. There is also an anime adaptation of Cyberpunk 2077 in the works. The anime is called Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and is being developed by Studio Trigger. It will be available on Netflix sometime this year. The show tells a standalone, 10-episode story about a street kid trying to survive in a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he chooses to stay alive by becoming an edgerunner-a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk.
We’ll have to wait and see what the livestream reveals tomorrow February 15 at 4 PM CET on the official CD Projekt Red Twitch channel.
