CD Projekt Red Concludes Development On Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt Red is seemingly moving development towards the Witcher 4. According to the company’s financial results report, development for Cyberpunk 2077 is reported to have ended.

With the last of the developers off the project, CD Projekt RED is now looking at directing its developers towards other ongoing projects, including the next installment in the Witcher franchise.

Development for Cyberpunk 2077 began to slow down following the release of its only expansion, Phantom Liberty, in September 2023. Prior to the recent financial report, CD Projekt RED had only 17 dedicated developers for Cyberpunk 2077 since this February.

Cyberpunk 2077 launched in 2020 to a poor reception from fans. While the game’s initial version was plagued with bugs, CD Projekt RED continued releasing patches and updates. Now, compared to its original release, Cyberpunk 2077 is pleasantly regarded by fans. Currently, the game has a very positive rating on Steam.

Not much is known about the next Witcher game aka Project Polaris. Development for the project was announced in 2022.

Cyberpunk 2077 is playable on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. For future CD Projekt RED updates head over to the official website and social media.

Caitlyn Taylor: New media and entertainment have been apart of my life since I was very young, and I don't think that interest will ever go away. When I'm bored, I immerse myself in lore videos no matter the length.
