Cat Me If You Can Released on Steam early yesterday morning, the much awaited cat game, also dropped a release date trailer. The Cat themed trailer showcases what might be the origin story of the game, detailing the beginning of the Chosen cat.
A clock’s pendulum shatters as time and color seem to break. The earth and moon appear in black and white, then the streets as well with only a few pops of color, and multiple cats frozen in space. Cats are the only creatures left on earth, with their frozen bodies standing and doing the exact things they were before the erasure. However, a white cat had a “time machine” and being inside it, kept it unfrozen. Now it goes on an adventure “photographing cats” in order to break the freezing. Not only in the present but the past as well, as the white colored saviour has “to traverse time and space”, rescue cats from those timelines then solve the “cataclysm” that caused all of this in the first place. Through a first person pov, a handy dandy camera and two other hidden tools. The trailer shows sneak peeks of castles, cities and more, hinting at plenty of landscapes and cats to see.
Something, the developers echoed in their latest Steam News Release, which discussed, that there would be 5 components that come with the game’s release. The first is “ 9 handcrafted levels spread across 3 uniquely themed worlds.” The second component is “Over 725 cats to find, photograph and love.” The third and fourth components are “More than 50 quests and puzzles to solve” and “10 – 15 hours of expected playtime (if you don’t spam the hint system 😉).” The last component also serves as a little reminder to “Slow down & enjoy the scenery and every little hidden detail in the world.” The devs also discussed bundles, a few ways to tackle motion sickness and that also in 2026 as well, the game is expected to join consoles particularly Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X and S, and more!
