This summer is getting cozier as Maracas Studio plans to release Cat Mail Co. on July 9th, 2026. Set on a quiet island with cat-folk, Cat Mail Co. tasks players with running the island’s post office and restoring the postal service to its former glory. The previous postman has mysteriously gone missing, leaving the office in disarray with a backlog of work and disgruntled customers.
To uncover the mystery, players must tackle the backlog of tasks and sort through mail. They can organize the postal office to their tastes and weigh parcels to determine postage. True to mailing service fashion, the game includes labels for destinations, fragile or heavy goods, and a variety of stamps. They are both aesthetic and functional. Each parcel can be labeled as the players see fit, adding personality to their sorting.
When night falls, this mailing simulator turns magical. Moonlight reveals secrets and provides magical insights as to how some parcels should be handled. It maintains the mailing routine, but adds a dash of whimsy to the gameplay.
Cat Mail Co. can be played solo or with up to four players, creating a cozy experience that can be enjoyed with friends. Each improvement players make to the post office unlocks new destinations, tools, and abilities that help manage the postal service easier. The game encourages players to slow down, gaining satisfaction through the completion of smaller tasks. It is stress free. There are no timers or penalties, though some packages may returned damaged if sent to the wrong destination.
A demo is available on Steam for Windows PC, featuring smooth and cozy 3D graphics. Any gameplay on the demo save will be compatible with the full release, so players can continue their save without needing to start from the beginning.
Today, the Maracas Studio team announced that Cat Mail Co. has reached 120,000 wishlists. Due to the Steam Summer Sale, the team has decided to delay the launch date from July 6th to July 9th. They want to wait a few days to give the game space for visibility. Although the full cost has yet to be revealed, a free Supporter Pack will be included with every purchase of the game made during the first week of release. It includes an artbook, the soundtrack, and a small surprise. After the first week, the Supporter Pack will be available as paid DLC.
