BlackMark Studio has released patch 1.5 for their game Caribbean Legend, which will be the game’s largest update yet. The update includes several gameplay mechanics, quests, and even a new DLC.
New gameplay mechanics include enhanced naval battles and global map dynamics, which will respond to the player’s strength. Players can always expect a growing challenge, as bounty hunters will hunt the player down as they grow in strength and reputation. These changes are accompanied by an update on naval gunfire systems, which give players the ability to target lower decks, masts, and fortifications. While adventuring players will also encounter revamped forts that can be sieged and slave traders that will again be a part of the game.
The update also brings 7 new side quests to ports and towns that will breathe new life into locations that have been previously visited. Simultaneously, NPCs have had their programming improved and will now seem smarter. Accompanied by the new combat rebalance, a refined skills system, and an optimized user interface, the game should feel more modern and alive. These changes were shown in a gameplay trailer that was revealed alongside a press release.
The new update also contains a new DLC called the Ships Pack: Chapter 3, which adds a legendary vessel, the brig Memento. The new vessel is released alongside a unique global event that will change the world drastically, while the event is ongoing. The new DLC also has four new achievements that players can earn.
Detailed information about each change made can be found on Steam, and the DLC must be purchased separately from the free update. The DLC costs $4.99 before tax, with a temporary discount on the bundle containing every DLC as a result of the update. The developers suggest starting a fresh game in order to experience each change as it affects each part of the game.
