Carbon Studios, an independent game and app development team based in Poland, revealed a first look at The Wizards – Dark Times. The title is a standalone expansion to the studios critically-acclaimed VR game, The Wizards. Earlier this week, during the first-ever VR Games Showcase at Gamescom 2019, the studio team gave interested players the opportunity to get hands-on with a quick demo for the upcoming game.
The Wizards – Dark Times will give players another chance to feel closer to the action through the use of virtual reality. Instead of using traditional buttons, these games make use of the motion controller to allow for a more “gesture-based” spellcasting system.
In the wake of a terrible blight in the realm, a new, even darker force threatens the land. Travel in time to a completely different era, face new enemies, meet new allies, and brandish your spells against fresh challenges. Pick up your motion controllers and travel through the perilous, changed realm of Meliora.
While little has been revealed regarding the plot, the game is said to expand on the world and story established in The Wizards. Jump into a spectacular fantasy world and embark on an epic adventure filled with time travel, challenging enemies, “never-seen-before locations”, and plenty of magic and spellcasting (including new elemental spells).
