Yet another adventure begins, are you ready for it? Will if you aren’t just yet, Captain Toad is ready to let you play in his upcoming puzzle filled adventure game, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, which releases on Wii U on January 9th. Though Captain Toad won’t be the only character that you will get to play, because now he will have pink-pigtailed Toadette along with him for the adventures and challenges that they will face in the upcoming game. Let the treasure hunt begin!
Unlike the heroes of Super Mario Brothers, Mario and Luigi, or any video game hero, both Captain Toad and Toadette actually don’t have any special powers. Along with not even having powers, is that their backpacks are to heavy that they can’t even jump, what’s a player got to do when we can’t jump? Though backpacks aren’t the only things holding them back, they both seem to have a fear of almost everything, but this adventure is full of challenges along the way and they must face it head on. “Armed with headlights and a can-do attitude, they must make their way through enemy-infested locales like Wild West shanties and Goomba waterparks. Each location is bursting with puzzles to solve and secrets to unearth.”

Captain Toad and Toadette are going off on an adventure that leads them to having to find the ultimate treasure, the coveted Power Star. As you noticed in the trailer above, you start out the adventure with being really close to the Power Star, but then Wingo, a giant greedy bird, makes the adventure a bit difficult for this treasure trackers, because he ends up grabbing their only Power Star, and flying away, with Toadette being taken away as well! At the beginning once you lose not only the Power Star, but of course Toadette, you will be doing a solo adventure in order to both find and retrieve the Power Star by defeating Wingo, and rescuing Toadette as well in order to unlock her as a playable character. Players will get to experience more than 70 fun, puzzling stages where you will also get to collect stars and gems along the way.
If you played Super Mario 3D World on the Wii U, then you will recognize Captain Toad because he made his appearance in some of the puzzle levels you went through in order to get a green star. The levels themselves separate from the other levels in the game, became a big hit with the fans, which now brings both Captain Toad and Toadette into their own game this January. “Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is just another way Nintendo is expanding its universe of games with familiar characters facing fun new challenges.”
