A tweet was released today by the multiplayer co-director of Infinity Ward Joe Cecot. The tweet revealed that the developer Infinity Ward has plans to add an update to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in order to fix a specific weapon, the 725 Shotgun. The tweet revealed that the update intends to fix the weapon’s effectiveness as the weapon is apparently too powerful even at a range.
Another tweak is coming which should massage out the rare very long shot. Now if the target is at low health this thing will always reach out. https://t.co/qN3cCNovOP

In a series of tweets, Cecot revealed that Infinity Ward plans to carefully modify the weapon so as to not lose the weapons core values, however the studio has no plans to remove the 725 Shotgun from the game. The main occurrence that the update intends to fix is demonstrated in a video shown by Cecot in which one player uses the 725 Shotgun in order to shoot a player from across the map. Cecot then hints that “changes are still to come” in regards to the video content.
It definitely is. We’re being careful to retain the soul of the 725.

There is a rare one shot at range if all possible pellets hit. Changes still to come.
