We’re getting closer to the eventual release of this year’s iteration of the Call of Duty franchise. Sledgehammer Games has been teasing us with more and more information regarding the features and what we can expect when we finally get our hands on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, and now they’ve given us a fairly huge drop, multiplayer maps. The studio, along with Activision, released a brand new multiplayer trailer, which shows us 16 classic maps, modernized for the new title, as well as a very familiar song playing in the background.
The trailer, which is mostly gameplay from different angles, shows brief snippets of each map, all of which are from one of the greatest entries in the entire franchise, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009). The 16 maps are more than likely brought in for mostly nostalgia, but it’s still awesome to see them back for the current iteration in the series. These maps include classics such as High Rise, Terminal, Favela, Afghan, Rust, Estate, and Karachi. As we mentioned earlier, the trailer also has a nice call back to the original Modern Warfare II (2009) trailer, the song by Eminem and Nate Dogg’s, Till I Collapse, which is still as timeless as ever.
The title will also have a campaign that continues from Modern Warfare II, as well as an open-world Zombie mode, and open combat missions. The title will have an open beta this weekend for PlayStation, Xbox and PC, with PlayStation players getting first dibs. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will launch on November 10, 2023, for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/Series S, and PC.
