Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition to Require 130 GB to Install

If you’re planning to pick up the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition then expect to have quite a bit of extra hard drive space on your PS4 to play it. According to an image on the Call of Duty site Charlie Intel, a French retailer, Micromania, has started to hand out empty box sets containing the code of the game to those who pre-purchased the PS4 version. COD: Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition is a premium version of the Infinite Warfare game that includes Modern Warfare Remastered. If the image from the French retailer is valid, that means the two combined games will require 130 GB of storage to install.

Below is the French retailer’s box set:

And here’s a close-up of the game’s details:

Some speculate that the reason for the large amount of space required is because of the PS4 Pro support, which will allow the game to run at 4K on the new console that’s coming out. At this point it’s also unclear as to whether the additional 6MP maps coming out for Modern Warfare Remastered will require even more space or if it’s already included to the 130 GB minimum.

Sometimes these AAA titles require a massive amount of space to install. But if this pattern consistently happens with other games, gamers will soon find themselves unable to squeeze space for all of their games. The 130 GB requirement does demand quite a lot of gamers, the game will take up over 25% for those gamers who have a 500 GB of space. It’s now easy to understand why the new Xbox One S 2TB edition is proving to be popular amongst gamers. The extra storage will come in handy.

In comparison to other COD games, the 130 GB is significantly more, but COD games have generally always been storage demanding.

To give Activision the benefit of the doubt, the 130 GB requirement might be a misprint from the French retailer. However, it wouldn’t be too surprising to learn that gamers will need 130 GB of space to play the COD: Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered edition, given that their previous games are also very demanding.

For those who pre-purchased the COD: Infinite Warfare Legacy or Digital Deluxe editions on PS4, the Modern Warfare Remastered campaign is now available to play – 30 days ahead of its initial release. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is scheduled to be released on November 4th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
