Call Of Duty Descent DLC Adds Dragons And Mechanical Zombies To The Mix

Call of Duty jumped the shark a long time ago, now the developers are trying to see how far they can take the franchise before people get sick of it. This time developers Treyarch decided to add mechanical zombies and dragons into the game.

You can watch the trailer for the upcoming Descent DLC below.

As you can tell this trailer focuses more on the newest Zombies map titled Gorod Krovi, which is an alternate history version of the Russian city Stalingrad. On the Call of Duty website, it says that the Origins characters (Dempsey, Nikolai, Richtofen, and Takeo) are sent to an “alternate, war-torn Stalingrad where Element 115 has wreaked havoc over a battlefield littered with the remnants of a battle between mechanized soldiers and deadly dragons controlled by Group 935.” The map will come with several new enemy types and weapons like the dragon shield and what looks like a power gauntlet.

As for the non-Zombies related content in the Descent DLC, players will be treated to four new multiplayer maps: Cryogen, Berserk, Rumble, and Empire.

Cryogen is a prison off the coast of the Dead Sea where some of the most dangerous criminals are kept. It’s designed to be a small circular map with sentry towers and cryo-tubes to facilitate wall-running. Berserk is a Viking village frozen in time and beset by blizzards. It’s a medium sized map with plenty of wooden buildings to fight in while hiding from the ever present blizzards.

Rumble puts players in an arena in the middle of a robot fight. Rumble is a small-to-middle-sized map that ” funnels high-speed combat to the central pit with tight corners throughout the exterior of the stadium.” Finally Empire, a call back to popular Black Ops 2 map called Raid. Empire enhances the original Roman villa map in both a graphical sense and by adding in functionality for Black Ops 3‘s movement system.

The Descent DLC is included on the Season Pass but if you want to buy it separate it will run you $15. While it may be coming first to PS4 on July 12th it will be available on Xbox One and PC, but the release date is unknown at this point.
