We are currently in a very weird time for Call Of Duty as many hardcore fans of the series are either completely dissatisfied with this years entry of Modern Warfare 3 or are absolutely in love with it. Much controversy has followed the past few weeks since the newest Call Of Duty dropped and we’ve finally received some more than good news regarding the future. Treyarch is almost universally regarded as the best studio working on COD games today with the Black Ops franchise being the fan favorite. In recent report from Windows Central, it was revealed that the next Call Of Duty will not only be made by Treyarch but will be a continuation of the Black Ops series with the next entry being called Call Of Duty Black Ops: Gulf War.
This follows the success of Treyarch’s last Call Of Duty title Black Ops Cold War, with many regarding that game as a great COD experience. Mainly due to having all three mainline game modes, campaign, multiplayer, and zombies been received very positively with the eventual inclusion of their battle royale mode Warzone. Players should be exceedingly excited since it’s been reported that this is the first Call Of Duty game ever to have a 4-year development cycle, normally being 3 years. Add on to the fact that ever since Black Ops 4, Treyarch has always been rushed in making their titles and despite that still releasing quality games. We can only imagine what a 4 year Treyarch Call Of Duty title may entail, but it all looks overwhelmingly positive.
The little information we got about the campaign, zombies and multiplayer is still sure to have players on the edge of their seats. The campaign is a continuation of Black Ops Cold War, now leading into the very real conflict of the Gulf War, one of the most televised wars ever in human history. We can assume that key players such as Mason, Woods, and possibly Adler will return to what’s sure to be an extremely high-stakes story which will showcase the effects on the bloody conflict and its repercussions that still shake the world today.
For multiplayer the only news that we have seen is that Treyarch is following in modern-day Call Of Duty business decisions which is to bring back a bunch of fan-favorite maps from all previous Black Ops Games. Some mentions were Grind and WMD. Finally, for Zombies fans, they can all take a collective deep breath as round-based zombies is returning with a continuation of the Cold War storyline.
Players can look forward to what seems to be an legitimately good Call Of Duty game early winter 2024, with early access being planned to be as much as weeks before the official launch of the game.
