Teased several weeks ago, Caitlyn Kiramman is next in line for Riot Games’ League of Legends fighting game 2XKO, and she’ll be arriving January 20th, 2026.
Piltover’s Peacekeeper is here and she’s brought her trusty rifle with her. As one would expect of an ADC transplant from a MOBA to a fighting game, Caitlyn has all the makings of a zoner. Zoner characters in fighting games tend to be viewed as annoying and it’s triply so in team-based fighting games; Caitlyn does not appear to be breaking convention here.
Armed with her long range gun as well as her iconic bear traps, not to mention long range shots that she can change the angle of depending on the button press, Caitlyn has a mix of zoning on top of traps which should lend themselves well into setplay. Speaking of setplay, Caitlyn also has a moving shield move that can only be described as Street Fighter character Urien’s Aegis Reflector, and infamous slow moving wall projectile that’s normally there to reflect enemy projectiles but is almost always used to set up unblockables. In a similar case here, Caitlyn can shoot through her shield a number of times to give herself space for zoning while pushing the opponent away, but anyone who knows their fighting games knows that this is probably going to lead to a lot of insane mixups rather than be used as a zoning implement.
Yes, 2XKO still isn’t beating the “Arcane fighter” accusations, but Caitlyn is a welcome fresh sight in the game, and hopefully she is an actual dedicated zoner outside of the usual suspect of a mixup super. Even if you’re not a fan of the sheriff herself, she looks fun and she looks good doing it, high quality characters such as this are a welcome sight as we head into 2XKO’s console release that’s set to drop on January 20th, 2026, the same day as Caitlyn herself.
