Nintendo and EA have announced the official launch date for the Nintendo Switch version of Burnout Paradise Remastered. The graphically updated racing game will release on Nintendo’s system later this year on June 19. The title was originally revealed during a Nintendo Direct this past March, but with no actual release date. According to EA in their post, Burnout Paradise Remastered will be completely optimized for the Switch with the game running at 60 frames per second and will include all of the DLC that was originally released on the first iteration of the game.

The game’s launch date has been in question for a few weeks as it randomly popped up on the Switch’s eShop store with the aforementioned date. It was taken down pretty quickly, but at least we know now that the date, June 19, was in fact genuine. Some additional tidbits that were announced include the ability to play online with both competitive and co-op modes. These include both racing and “social challenges” where you’ll be able to play with eight additional players.
While it’s exciting to finally be able to play one of the greatest racing simulators of all time on the go, there’s a sticking point that might derail this entire release. Burnout Paradise Remastered is set to be priced at $49.99, only ten dollars less than a regular AAA title release for today’s standards. To put this in even more perspective, Burnout Paradise Remastered has been out for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC since 2018, and is available for all three at merely a fraction of the $49.99 price tag.
Despite the somewhat inflated cost, it’s debatable whether that’s a deal-breaker for some players. We’re hoping that EA and Nintendo drop that number just a bit before June rolls around. Still, we’re looking forward to the game and crashing into literally everything in sight while at home, or when we’re out and about. Burnout Paradise Remastered will officially launch for the Nintendo Switch on June 19, 2020, for the Nintendo Switch. It’s also available now for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
