Bungie Reveals New Destiny Update and Twitch Plans

Bungie’s latest update is relatively small in the scheme of things, but is still full of exciting news for the fans and company alike.

In this week’s version of “This Week At Bungie,” the developer revealed their new in-house streaming studio, a space where they intend to host weekly Twitch shows, starting in March. The content will vary by week, but will include everything from game reveals to “casual hangouts” – the overall tone seems to be pretty relaxed, with the post summarizing the plan as:

We’ll introduce you to the people who make your games and delve into their creative process. We’ll expose you to new things we’re making. When we have nothing new to say, we’ll send Cozmo into a Raid with a special Bungie guest and a few Guardians who have never faced the final boss.
In the second half of the post, Bungie announced their new Iron Banner event for Destiny, which will run from February 23rd to March 1st. The development team mentioned that they “might deploy new matchmaking settings that favor connection quality over skill.” The post includes shots of new weapons and armor, including a new rocket launcher and a very intimidating Hunter helmet. The items will be split up as follows:
Available from Lord Saladin:
  • Rank 3: Gauntlets, PlayStation Gauntlets
  • Rank 4: Helmet, PlayStation Helmet, Sniper Rifle
  • Rank 5: Rocket Launcher
Available as post-game drops:
  • Rank 2: Gauntlets, PlayStation Gauntlets
  • Rank 3: Helmet, Sniper Rifle
  • Rank 4: Rocket Launcher

Sniper rifle

Rocket launcher

Titan armor

Hunter armor

PlayStation exclusive armor

Now that the Crimson Days Valentine’s Day event is over, players who participated can expect the Crimson Days Ghost reward to arrive on February 23. One Chocolate or Crimson Ghost per account will be delivered to the Postmaster – players who are expecting the arrival of a reward should make sure the Postmaster has space in order to avoid losing any items in it.
